what to use to fix the overflow on radiator
Has anyone had experience using Q-bond? I need to fix until I can get it properly fixed.

No experience with that, i have used the 5 minute epoxy stick...play dough type stuff though....good luck!

Unless you're dead broke, I'd take the whole thing off (about 30 minutes to an hour). Shouldn't cost that much to have it re-soldered.
If the radiator is otherwise in good shape, you might want to have it rodded and clean while it's out.

I've seen a bolt on valve stem used as a temporary fix. Clean off the area, bolt in the stem, remove the valve in the stem and hook your overflow hose to it.

I think if I had that issue, I'd call the local radiator shop. That said, a new radiator really isn't that much. I got a 3 row from Advance Auto for less than $200.00. Now I don't know what your budget is but it is a radiator....pretty important to the truck's functions.
I did have to get the actual part number for the radiator, Advance Auto didn't know what I was talking about. |
