Re: why not.......

It looks like another one of those trailered rat rods that can't be street driven except maybe on special cruise nights where the law enforcement folks allow a bit of slack for equipment violations .
The State patrol around here would have you pulled over and most likely have it impounded around here for several equipment violations before you got ten miles from the end of my driveway.

That said I see a vehicle that a number of guys on here could throw together for under 2000 dollars with most of that going into the cost of the coe cab at going prices and the diesel engine if you ran a diesel. It will no doubt really appeal to some bonehead with more money than sense and you will see the new owner showing up in rat rod rags next season grinning like a Chessie cat with his new pile of rust. Then it will be up for sale for the next guy with more money than sense to have his year in rusty glory.

Re: why not.......

How effective are the front shocks when they are almost horizontal? Or are those steering stabilizers?

Re: why not.......

Looks like quarter elliptical front springs. If you've ever driven one with that set up you'd know shocks don't matter much.

Re: why not.......

ok, not a fan. it does make you ask the question: who certified this to be street legal and drive on the same roads as us and our families/loved ones? it is like the monster trucks that are 4 ft off the roadway. great, build it if you want, but don't expect to be road legal when complete. these are special vehicles and, as such, maybe should be on a trailer to the race track or car show or mud bog or ?

Re: why not.......

I don't think I need to make a comment. I don't even like "frame swaps". You know the definition of a "Frame swap", yeah, it's a "Money, time and work swap" just simply swaps time and money and work from one frame to another, that's all it does. Well actually, it swaps the time to modify the frame to modifying the body to fit another frame!

I don't remember anyone putting it that way, but true, why add complexity to any project? As for the OP ad, it is someones vision, licensed and titled. I would ask if it had a DMV inspection or the guy just processed the title without acknowledging the chassis change.
