AD Trucks with Roll Cage - Pics?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of adding a cage to my 50 for a little piece of mind mounting points for safety harnesses.

If any of y'all have caged your AD, I'd appreciate pictures - or if you have pictures saved from other people's rides

The best I can come up with is Throttle Works Torn project.

Re: AD Trucks with Roll Cage - Pics?

I had the same thought about belts, so here's what I did. Work in progress, and I don't know if I want to do an upper hoop, but I probably should.
I'll also state that I know nothing about this, or how safe it is. I did use the correct DOM 0.125 wall, tubing. Has to be safer than 60-year-old sheet metal.
On the underside, I made plates, similar too, but larger than the feet of the top side. I plan to grade 8 bolt it, so it's removable.

Re: AD Trucks with Roll Cage - Pics?

I've had something similar to B-mac's bar, rolling around in my head.

I don't think a whole roll cage is necessary, just a little added safety. I'm also planning on adding some hat channel to the bottom of the cab and a couple more cab mounts.

Another thought that came up, was adding some hoops to the front part of the frame. The inner fender wells on modern vehicles are structural. Almost like a cage in itself. I've seen some crash tests done on early trucks, the sheet metal crumbles like a tin can.

Something like this Schwartz Chassis is what I had in mind.
