Steering Column Shaft Too Long

Im Using A Tilt Column Out Of A Newer Van for my 70 chev Truck. The Steering Column Shaft Is About 3 inches Longer Than The Stock One.. can I Drill Out The plastic Inserts, Slide Out The double D shaft And Cut It? Thanks

just drill out the plastic tabs and drive the shaft down, no need to cut.

Thanks Guys. Thats Awesome. Just Curious,The old column had a Round washer and spring. Does anything take Their place or do i not use them?

Those two pieces held the lower bearing in place on your other column. You don't need them on this one....
