Not bad for off the top of your head. I know you own a couple few, but you left out FORD . And GMC stands for Grown Man's Chevy. A couple we use here are POS (Need I spell it out?) and PO - Previous Owner.

NPTU brings back memories. I went thru MTS-635 in Charleston as a student in 93, then stayed as a SPU for 2 more years. That was when NPS and NFAS was still in Orlando.

There are some acronyms for you. My favorite will always be FTN.

Master Chief Fire Control Technician is one that always amused me- FTMC. I have nothing against Marines, BTW.

Re: Definition of Terms/Acronyms?

I thought OG was old guy. I text with my granddaughter (13) pretty often so I get the shorty versions from her and have to ask, what does that mean? The ikr got me the first time she used it (I know right). Now I use it with my friends and family and most of them are OG and ask what does ikr mean? I act all superior and fill them in.

I thought OG meant original gangster. I am not sure about CG. Coast Gaurd or Chevy Guy?

It does mean original gangster. The term is not new at all. I first heard it used by Dr. Dre in the early 90’s, and I’m sure it was coined well before that.

Yep, I was on a bus in Houston in the late 80s, saw a couple of dudes calling each other “homeboy” they were making drum/percussive beats accapella. That was before before I ever heard about rap.

All the nukes on both fast attacks I served on were down with FTN. To be honest I've never regretted GTFO, never regretted serving but when I was done, I was DONE. FTN because of all the times the Navy effed me.

Oops, you are correct. I was discharged over 42 years ago; that memory has rust on it.

Heh heh heh, one of my favorites. I have a wood carving class/club at the local senior center. 4 Marines, 3 Army and 4 Navy, amongst all the other people. One of the Army, ALL the Marines and one of the Navy guys wear hats with ribbons and such on them. What I did in the Navy constitutes a small fraction of what I have accomplished in my life. I'm me and the time I spent in the Navy does not define me that much. My time spent working for defense contractors for 30 years far overshadows that job I held in the engine room.

Re: Definition of Terms/Acronyms?

One my girlfriend and I text is TTYL. We both are not real big on dumbing down the language, but do use that. We have fun adding more to it just to be silly, like TTYITM (get it?) or worse, TTYAIGTTD (After I Go To The Dentist). It's always a thing you can figure out per our conversation. I've added more to make it impossible, like TTYAIGTTDAGHWMP (And Get Home With My Prescription). But most times she figures it out.

Here's one that hit me, Leon. I thought the list had it ALL. I mean shoo-wee! What isn't on it? Well, for whatever reason yesterday I had one come to mind and remembered this thread. Came to check and can't believe it's not there (unless I looked right at it and didn't see it like the big yellow mustard up front center late night). It's pretty common, or was at one time before they came on everything. But it's PDB. I'm not even going to say what it stands for. I'll leave that for the next guy.

Will a BBC fit under my hood?

I'd have to see a picture to answer that. But if you want her to stay there long you'll need plenty room for food too!!

Thought of another, MILF... Mirror Is Loose Fitting.
