my 86 2wd black swb i picked up this summer

2 owner truck from Ga I bought this summer, cleanest truck ive had so far

here is a you tube video of it

https://youtu.be/dSwwRUd6dBU

ive since changed the radiator support, new front bumper, new rear sport bumper/brackets, and installed wheels and tires....
245/45 20's on front and 295/45 20's on back, Polished American racing torq thrust II wheels, 20x8's in front and 20x10's in back

.....hopefully get it lowered next week, going with all western chassis components, 5" up front with 2.5" spindles and 2.5" springs, and in back, 7" using the WC flip kit, and 2" hangers

(ended up with a darn bulged disc a few months ago or I would've already had the darn thing done!)

doing an LS swap this winter, slowly been gathering up all the components needed

Nice truck!! I'm a big fan of the original grille, but that does look sharp. What did you do with the original grille?

And I absolutely love the wheels

thanks man, I sold it locally, I had it on my garage wall as "wall art" for a few months, then a friend of mine offered me $150 for the grille and support so I sold it

I would like a Tailgate Band for "wall art". When my Dad worked at GM, he made those tailgate bands. He told me when he saw my truck, after I bought it. I actually never knew what he did all those years, when he worked at GM.

On another note, sorry to hear about your back. I've been there, so I know how you feel. Look up I.D.E.T. Back Surgery. It's an outpatient surgery, and it did wonders for my back.

I had a herniated disc repaired last year..Best thing I ever did. No more pain. Great way to live. Good Luck.

I can't wait to see what that truck looks like when lowered.

id love to have more chevy stuff for wall art, so far its limited to a total 69 Camaro grille, and a 91 gmc suburban grille

i'll took that up, thanks for the tip, I'm sick of having numb fingers

ive been getting "dry needling" done at pt, its helping some for sure, hope I don't end up needing surgery

I cant wait either, ive been waiting quite awhile on my buddy to do it for me, he has a lift, so it'll be much easier

Re: my 86 2wd black swb i picked up this summer

finally got my truck lowered. (the struggle is real)

2.5" western chassis drop spindles
2.5" western chassis drop springs

western chassis flip kit in rear

KYB shocks all around with shock relocators in rear

also replaced the inner and outer tie rods and sleeves, and put on new assembled upper control arms. I'm sure it will settle some, I may end up using some drop shackles in rear, not sure yet, to get another inch or two

Very nicely done. I'm not usually a fan of the 88-91 front ends on the smaller trucks, but it fits well here!

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

thanks you all for the comps

i'd like to suggest one thing, just some advice when you lower these trucks....ive found that it is best before tightening up the rear leaf spring "eye" bolts, make sure the truck is jacked up from the bottom of the rear end housing and is under pressure, in other words, the truck is lifted up off of the jack stands before you tighten those leaf spring eye bolts up....that way its not kinda "kincked" up and your truck will sit closer to where it will stay when dropped down....hope that makes sense? just a suggestion for the ones that haven't done this before

these are the wheels I used on the front:

these are the wheels I used for the rear:

Sure aren't very many tire companies that make both of those sizes with matching tread.

Lol. What brand did you end up going with? I'm pretty much limited to Yokahama it's looking like.
