Headlamp wiring 1958

Hey guys I'm wiring my headlamps and this may be a stupid question but can you tell me which terminal goes to which light, low beam and high-beam? One of the terminals has three live wires and the other one only has two. Sorry if this is a stupid question thank you very much in advance

Re: Headlamp wiring 1958

Also each of the 4 headlamp buckets is stamped r1, r2, L1, L2. I assume R1 is passenger side low beam. Please confirm if I'm correct. Thanks!

Re: Headlamp wiring 1958

the socket with 2 green wires has hi/lo and the other only has lo
the hi/lo goes on the outside light
make sure the lug is grounded well to prevent problems down the road

Re: Headlamp wiring 1958

post a pic of the back of the plugs
only 2 wires out of the bucket to the plug on the inner fender, the black wire out of the bucket is his lo beam
must be 2 black wires to separate terminals in the first plug: hi and ground

Re: Headlamp wiring 1958

This shows the 4 light system with relays hooked up but has a clear diagram of the actual headlight wiring from the relays to the lights.
If you aren't running relays just follow the path of the wire colors and you should be good. the diagram was borrowed from here http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tech/imag...ingDiagram.jpg
