68 C10 frame damage

Possibly a noob question, but this frame has obviously been hit and I’m wondering if bends/damage like this can be corrected? Again sorry if this is an easy yes or no, I just have zero experience with framework.

Re: 68 C10 frame damage

If your talking about the rear cross member being bent I don't think it was hit . Looks like someone hooked a chain to it and pulled on it. I would think you could replace that crossmember with a straight one and it would be fine

Re: 68 C10 frame damage

What about the piece ahead of it? Is that bend normal?

That crossbar is angled slightly from the factory.

I'm picturing someone hooking to a tree stump with some slack in the chain and flooring it.

Re: 68 C10 frame damage

Super common to see those bent like that. I had a board member come out and pick up a bare frame from me. Used that cross brace to pull it onto the car trailer. It bent. He was like ... Gah I knew better than that to use that to pull on.

I have one of those if you need it. I see you also have overload springs there. I am interested in those if you are taking them off for any reason.
