Carburetor Inlet Question

Hello, I am having some carburetor inlet problems with my 1972 Chevy Pickup. The female threads inside the carb where a fuel filter is supposed to be located(I have an inline filter instead) is striped and will not let the large connecting nut screw into the carburetor. It is to the point where I don't believe a tap for that size would help anything because of the threads being so worn down inside. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks,

Collin Yanke

Look around on here in the quadrajet section. There are self tapping repair connectors.
