Tranny swap question

I have a sm465/ np205 in my 70 4x4 now. I got a th350 from a 69 4x4 and need to know if i need to get a new adapter or just the sleeve that goes from np205 splines to th350 splines (coupling sleeve?).
I have been told by someone that all I need is the sleeve, but not sure he knows his stuff.
Also I will be looking for the part(s) that I will need if you have it(them) for sale.
Thanks

Trany Swap

I believe you'll find that the sleeves are not interchangable from the auto set up and the standard set up. Not only are the sleeves differant, but the splines on the auto transfercase are fine and the splines on the standard are course. You will have to either find a transfercase that was on an auto trany or give Advanced Adapters a call and see if they make an adapter that will allow you to put an auto trany on a standard tranfercase.

I changed my truck over and had to swap the transfercase at the same time.

Good luck finding what you need !!!

Thanks custom10.
I talked to a local 4x4 parts guy who told me I needed an th350/ np205 adapter, power coupling(sleeve), and possibly a different input shaft for the np 205 (a finer splined shaft for automatics)
Anybody confirm this and have these parts, or know where to get them?

70 CST,

Give Parts Mike a call or try his forum. The web page has his phone and email if you want to talk with him. He's in Auburn, CA and if he doesn't have the part he probably knows where to find it. Between him and his brother I've never been unable to find what I was after.

4X4 Heaven

When I try the link it takes me to autobytel.com.
Tried entering the address directly and still goes to autobytel.com.
Let me know trukman if this is correct. I am interested in saving money! Thanks for the info.

{ EDIT}
Thanks I have all the parts I need for this now.
