Bed length the same RCSB vs. ECSB?

I'm looking at buying a used topper. Is the bed on my 2001 regular cab short box the same length as the bed on an extended cab short box?

I am 99% sure there are only two box sizes....6.5' and 8'. Should be the exact same size.

some ex cabs came with the 5'8" box like on the crewcabs too, so watch for that

Crew cab short beds are 5'8" I think. I might be off on the exact length but am 99.99999% sure all crews have a unique size bed for the '01+ trucks.

The extended cab with the really short bed is an option. I've never seen one in person but it can be ordered from GM. Apparently you can get it with the Vortec Max package too.

Wow, wouldn't have believed it without that pic.

I know GM was doing that with the 07+ NBS trucks, but didn't know 99-07 classic had it available!

Re: Bed length the same RCSB vs. ECSB?

News to me....course I haven't been keepin' up much til now. I like my shortbed but the 5'8" box is too small for me.

I'm the same way. I would have swore that all ext cabs had the 6.5' short beds on them, and that the 1/2 ton crew cabs were the only ones with the short beds. Thanks for the info. I've never seen one either.

Re: Bed length the same RCSB vs. ECSB?

Anyone else notice the 2500HD style hood on that 1500? Does that make it an HD 1500?

No all the 06 and 07 classics had that hood and grill
