need help with hydorboost

Hello:
I am replacing the hydroboost on my 05 silverado due to it's leakage. I need to reuse the pushrod, spring and spring retainer clip but I don't know how to get the reatainer clip out! Do I have to bend some of the pins around it? Is there any trick?
Thanks

Hi Nima. I'm not sure how that one is made but some of the older ones are throw aways meaning you just about have to tear them up to get them off and they are a dealer only item the last I heard. Maybe your luck will be better getting it off.

Re: need help with hydorboost

Thanks for input. Well, the little paper which came with the new one says I have to take them off and reuse them. I was thinking to go to dealer and get one but it is already after 5 pm sat!. If the s... instruction would say to get a new one, I wouldn't tear apart on Sat afternoon before buying one.

Re: need help with hydorboost

push the spring retainer in and swivel it out diagonally. The retainer is very forgiving.
