Fenders: Original or Reproduction

Is it better to use new or repair an original that's not to far gone?

Re: Fenders: Original or Reproduction

Definitely use original if you can. Repro fenders don't fit like original ones.

Re: Fenders: Original or Reproduction

X2 if possible..
Top edge of the fender seems flat compared to hood. Made hood look like it was sticking up.

Folded wrong where the headlight ring attached and left a gap.

Looking at truck head on, gap between hood and fender widened drastically on the front edge. A curve so to speak.

Back bottom of the fender stuck out at the bottom over a 1/2 inch past the door and rocker. The originals I put back on and fit like a glove... The repop had to have the bracing all cut loose and rewelded. I don't know the brand, but it was enough that next time I will search high and low for fixable original...
