Walbro 450 on stock blazer sending unit

My plan is to simply cut the bottom sock of the factory pick up tube and pit the walbro on it with the short hike and clamps....seems very simple, but haven't seen anyone do it yet. Is there something I'm missing?

I did it on mine and works like a charm. Double check your measurement on tank depth and go for it. I would send pics but mine is installed and I didn't take any pictures. When you mount the pump, also double check the hinge area on the float wire. My pump was rubbing and prevented full range of motion.

Did you set it up so that the walbro sock is just barely off the bottom of the tank?

Yes I did. I have an 87 blazer tank and sending unit. It measured 10 3/4 inches to the bottom and with the pump mounted vertically it sits just below the sending unit float attachment. Pump is approximately 1/4 off the bottom of the tank.

Awesome, I was sure this would work and am surprised I haven't seen more people doing it. A lot simpler than most stuff I've seen

Where are you placing your return line
How are you getting your 12VDC connection outside of the tank?

I'm using the blazer tank from the 67-72 models. I'll get some pics tomorrow
