Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
No C-notch, just sitting on the factory bump stops. I'd like to notch it, but not sure that it's worth the trouble.

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
New to the forum. I just put a SBC 350/TH350 into a '74 P10. It also has factory PB, disc and drum. Did the P10's come with V-8s? Next is PS. I can post pics if anyone is interested.

I'd like to see the pics! I've thought about putting in a SBC too. We'll see...

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
Very cool! P10's only came with 6's. Start a new thread on it. Heck that would be a great introduction!

I've searched the board but can't find the "Start a Thread" option. What am I missing?

Go to section you want to put the new thread in (67-72 chevy gmc projects and builds) and you'll see before the first link start new thread.

I'm almost done installing the air bags and disc brake with drop spindles.

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
I need to start thinking of which wheels I want to use. The one I have stick out a little too far in the front and the fenders hit at 10psi or less.

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
Still working on all of the loose ends. Had to be a little creative to get the power brakes booster I got to fit. Biggest thing now is getting the shifter linkage set up.

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
Does any one know if there is a freeze plug on the rear of a 250 L6, between the engine and trans?

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
I recently decided to get a donor truck to get a engine and trans out of. I picked up a 1993 chevy 1500 with a 350 TBI and a 4L60E. I got my old engine and trans out (through the passenger door). This has to be one of the dirtiest frames I've wrenched on. Almost ready to start pulling the 350 out.

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
Frames looking good!
From all the nastiness on the ground cloth, it looks like you had your work cut out for you. Keep up the great work!

I got the 5.7 TBI to fit. Now I'm working out the fuel tank, pump and lines.

Re: 1968 GMC P-10 Ice Cream Truck
Getting closer to starting the engine. Finished the fuel lines, gas tank and in tank pump, and even painted the interior. Waiting on the exhaust and driveshaft.
