Fitech install update

Finally decided to ditch FCC and go with 89 model blazer tank with in tank fuel pump. Sent FCC back 3 times , fitech said Normal for fuel
To come out of vent line. They are calling it a vent/return line now.Tried to get money refunded but no luck. After installed new tank and fuel
Pump got it fired up so far so good. Have only put 50 miles on it so far . Can tell it will need some tuning for hot cranking on mine. If anyone has installed one please share tuning info.

Re: Fitech install update

Birdman72, sorry to hear that as we will be getting our installed this weekend. I hope I don't have any problems but I did put a return line back to the fuel tank just for the FCC.
what problems are you having with the hot cranking? I am not sure what that means.
Did it have a problem with the carb when trying to start when motor was hot?
or Did it only have a problem after you installed the FI when starting hot?

Re: Fitech install update

My bad, ya truck starts fine when cold but after drive and get engine to operating temp it takes a couple of tries and then it stars. We checked my timing before the efi and my initial is low at 7degrees and 36 total. Believe this may
Have some to do with cranking issue, but I will
Have to get new distributor ,mine has no more adjustment .So far the fitech drives awesome.Just out of curiosity what temp
Does your motor run when hot outside. Mine will
Run 200 driving and 210 setting in traffic.Its a 383 stroker .

Re: Fitech install update

My sons truck has a 355 with Vortec heads and a nice cam. His truck runs around 180 degrees all the time since I got the shroud installed. It does have a 180 degree thermostat and an aluminum radiator that was in the truck when we got it. I also put a newer serpentine belt kit I bought from a board member with a new belt and water pump. It currently has a Holley 650 Dbl pumper with manual choke which he doesn't have to use yet as it hasn't got below 60 degrees outside yet this year. It is running a little rich so not sure if that has anything to do with the way it starts. i do have a HEI Summit dizzy I bought for like 90$. When I installed the motor I added a vent line back to the sender so I can attached the vent from the FCC.
I am not sure what the time is set at as I had a friend do it when I was at work.
