rattle noise

I have a noise coming from under my blaze that is driving me nuts! It sounds like a chain rattleing and it is only when I hit a bump and when the weather is warm. I have looked at the shocks and the drivelines and exhaust and all seems tight. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem and what the fix is. Thanks for the help.

I had a noise that turned out to be the bolt/screws that
hold the center caps on the Rally Wheels. They were lose.

Still lookin for a set of the right bolt/screws. I Need 10
but don't want to pay 40.00 for them.

Welcome from K.C.! I agree with the Hat Guy. It definitley sounds like something on or around the wheel. My guess would be to start there, and just feel around. Fern..

I've had some nasty rattles from left over exhaust hangers dangling. Ya might also check to see if all the body mount bolts are tight.

Check your torque converter cover, they get loose

Backing plates on the inside of the disc's rattle at times

Bumper bolts can makes some interesting sounds...

License plate bolts... where to stop?

Get your creeper and an assortment of tools and go front to rear tightening every nut and bolt you can find/reach.

You'll be amazed how many will tighten up more.

I had a rattle when I hit a bump and it ending up being a broken bracket on my battery tray.

Tip

I know this one works. Here are the ingredients: 2 friends, beer, and you. You lie under the truck while they bounce the truck back and forth standing in the door jams. It's a little uneasy being under there whith all the motion, but I've found a few noises that way. Being under may allow you to find the source easier then being inside the cab. But it may be hard defining the one thing that is making the noise cuz after 30+ years just about everything can come loose.

Or you can do it with just one friend and lots of beers. Fabricate a sling underneath and have your friend drive as you look for rattles.........

The sling would work....It's just a matter of how much lift you have.

blazerparts, or you could put skateboard wheels on your creeper and just hook'er up... just tell your friend NO gravel roads (Safety First)

Sounds like a Darwin Award in the making...
