hello everybody my truck is a 97 chevy k 1500 350 ci auto, it has central fuel injection but not throttle body. it has a recuring miss that doesnt do it all the time mainly it misses when u just pull off from stop. and more so when it needs to kick down to third gear it will miss when pulling a slight grade.

Re: truck misses

The TB sits atop the plastic intake plenum. When was the last time you had at least an ignition tune up? I have to replace the dist. cap and rotor at least every 15 months till I got ones with brass contacts.

If it's not throwing a SES light, it's not an actual miss. Often a bad EGR will make the engine run rough just off idle. Pull the connector to the EGR valve and run it. See what happens.

You may also want to clean it, the TB and the IAC.

Re: truck misses

Have you looked at the MAF sensor? Mine was nasty and I had an intermittent miss. Cleaned it with a Q-Tip and alcohol. Runs good.
