Suburban rear side glass weather stripping

I managed to break the right rear side glass (the big one!!). I need a new gasket to install the new glass. Any idea where I can get one?

I don't think you can buy just one.

Get a grip on something before you look........ That is why I cleaned up my old ones and used them.

Re: Suburban rear side glass weather stripping

If you find a used one try soaking it in a bucket of water with lots of dish soap. I did that on my fixed quarter window seals and it did wonders for them.
Good luck.

Mine just disintegrated when we took the window out.

Yep, when I ordered my needed quarter window gasket from Steele Rubber Products I had to buy the pair. Had the glass shop replace them both as the other side with the unbroken window was toast anyway. All looks and works good back there now!

Re: Suburban rear side glass weather stripping

I just broke my passenger door window glass (riding mower can really throw some rocks)
Ordered up new runners from our local vendor GMCPaul who always seems to carry good quality "Precision" rubber parts, felts, runners, etc.

Looks like he sells by by the set too. $240

I used GMC Pauls too. Just installed my rear seals a few weeks ago, it was much easier than I expected, especially with 3 people and I used paracord to pull the seal out

My used ones worked very well. Just lube them up good when you install them.

Re: Suburban rear side glass weather stripping

How many people does it take to replace the glass?

I have new weatherstrip and usually work alone. It seems like you'd need a couple people holding the glass and another to manipulate the gasket.

Did mine recently. I was inside with a set of suction cups, my cousin was outside working the string to pull the seal out and a friend was over helping put pressure on the opposite end of the glass where my cousin was pulling, this only helped prevent the seal from wanting to go back behind the window seam. I would say two people could do it, but the third person is good to help with the little stuff.
The three of us got the glass out, cleaned/scraped the glass, cleaned the channel and prepped the seals to go in with dish soap, all in about an hour and a half.
