Square^squared: 1980 square headlight trucks - let's seem 'em!

1980 has the distinction of having one-year-only square headlights and bezels. These lights and bezels aren't shared with any other year, and not all 1980 models got these lights. Given that all of the '73-'79 trucks have round headlights, that makes the square '80 lights fairly uncommon. So, let's see what you guys have got!

Here's mine. Originally a 6-cylinder/TH350. Currently a 305/TH350. Pretty bare bones with manual locks and windows, no A/C, 2WD shortbox. It does have AM/FM (no cassette) and carpet though.

I've heard a few people say that only the Silverados got square headlights in 1980. Not true:

Nice looking truck...but never liked the extra-square look of that year.

Re: Square^squared: 1980 square headlight trucks - let's seem 'em!

its definately something different.like the lip on the front of the hoods. i think sometimes on CERTAIN trucks it can be pulled off extremely well, and makes some people step back like wait, what?
im a fan of the round headlight front ends, but there are nice!

That is my favorite grill. Followed by the 73-74 and the 88-91.

Re: Square^squared: 1980 square headlight trucks - let's seem 'em!

That's it? C'mon guys! These trucks are kinda rare, but given the size of this community I thought there'd be three pages worth of pics by now.

I'll post up a few more to keep things rolling. This is the truck from Cannonball Run:

Not even a Ferrari 308 and a Countach stand a chance against a 1980 square!

It's also well known that only the 1980 models can fly.

What it originally was...

What half the body parts from it are on now...

I'll miss it when it goes... but i'm getting something just as awesome.

That last truck looks like it has seen better days. The phrase "bubble gum and bailing wire" comes to mind.

That is correct. I always ordered a Scottsdale so that I could get the vinyl flooring and manual windows/locks, but upgraded with RPO V22 to get the square lamps and chrome grille.

Re: Square^squared: 1980 square headlight trucks - let's seem 'em!

I have a 75 c10 that has been wearing the V22 80 front end for about 20 years. Just changed it to the original 75 (also v22) front end to return to the round HL. Makes it look older is the thinking and I kind of like the change up.

Here is my 1980 Suburban. It's really a Chevy, but I prefer the 78 era GMC grille so that's what it wears now.
