Educate me: Did CST K5's have a fuel neck cover under the rear panel?

Curious if GM installed fuel neck covers under the rear panel in CST equipped K5's. Mine and a couple other CSTs I've seen lacked them - my stock gas tank was swapped out so it may have been removed at that time. My guess is yes but looking for confirmation. Example pic of said cover mocked up in my old K10.

My 1970 non CST has one. I think they put them there to protect the fuel lines from damage. I don't believe they were just a CST thing. Some of the broshures show them on construction sites being loaded with wire lathe.

K5'S with the panels did not have them , non cst's had them because there was no other protection. This is based on the 6 I have had, four non cst and two cst. All followed what I have stated.

Good info here. Didn't realize that CST lacked the metal cover. Makes some sense in that the panel is there and that the upper bed screws would displace the panel away from the bedside.

Thanks guys.

That's interesting. I thought mine was just missing. I guess I don't need that one Pete. Lol. Oh well.
