Re: Building CG's new interior

My new 68 K20 has a blue interior and that limits me on what color I decided to paint in the future. So when Grumpy offered up his services to the board at what I think is an amazing deal I jumped on the opportunity.

The pleats are going to look great. I'm not worried about going totally stock in this truck anyway.

I can build you a roll and pleated set done correctly, The pleats have to be flipped from drivers to passengers sides to give the correct ROLL & PLEATED look when you open the door , When you go to the car/truck shows you'll see many built the wrong way where all the pleats are going the same direction and it takes away for the intended design . The price would still be the same as I offered in the classified section in black and NO shop will build them for that price and it's about double the sewing time over face stitched pleats .

P.S. We already have vendor Truckseats building stock type covers and rather than cross the same path I'm offering the custom built to order interiors at a discount .

He doesn't make the seat covers himself, they are from manufacturer Truck World. Nothing wrong with that, they are excellent covers.

Hey Grumpy,
How far are you from the Mosheim/Greeneville area? My in laws live there and I was thinking of delivering the seats in person when I get ready to have them done. Plus, I would like to meet you one day.

I don't know much about upholstery, how do you do door panels on a 68 that has metal panels. pics would help my simple mind. I'm interested in door panels & visors. thanks, Larry

That is awesome, they live less than 30 minutes from you! She has a lot of family in Morristown too. I will get some pics and send you a PM in the next few days.
Thanks!

you could just send me the panels and visors and I could recover them for you , That may be the easiest way for you and the visor covers are sewn on so I would need them anyway , I could have the covers ready and install them and ship them back the next day for you .

Re: Building CG's new interior

The dash covers are fitted on the ends for an easier install and no wrinkles , Look what just this cover did for that old cracked dash pad .the french seam just adds a little stitching detail to an otherwise plain dash pad . On black dashes using a red / blue / green or whatever paint color stitching would add a little color to the interior . All the interior parts are hand made using a high grade commercial single stitch walking foot machine
