Exclamation Do these rear springs make my truck look fat?

You see, I wanted to jack the truck up a little bit. It had some whimpy 2" drops in the rear, so I found these moog load levelers for like $25 in the Summit Racing bargain pile (just down the street from me and I figured they would jack the rear up about 2" but instead they pumped it up 4".
So that's cool, I like it riding high. So now I'm thinking I need to crank the front up about 2" and everything will be cool.

So does it look fat or doesn't it??

If you do end up going 2" up in the front, please post a good side picture. I'd love to see it. I have stock springs in the back and front on mine, and there's a pronounced rake. I often wondered what it would look like if I raised it 2" in the front. I'd also like to hear how you went about it, if and when you do.

Yeah, I'm looking into Moog springs and it depends on spring rate and spring load, there are a few that should give it 1-2-" lift... I'll let ya know.

Those springs should settle an inch or more in a couple months of daily driving (say 2k miles?).

That's good, they'll be perfect by then. Maybe I'll put a little weight in the back too.

Are those the Moog 6101 or CC603 part number springs?

I also think a little weight in the back will smooth out the ride and your stance will be look just right.

They are CC603. 6101 would actually be better but what the heck, $25 was worth the experiment.

Re: Do these rear springs make my truck look fat?

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the Moog website and it shows the installed height on the CC603 is 10.75 inches and the installed height on the 6101 is 8.75 inches. The CC603 is a 'variable rate' spring and the 6101 is a more stock type spring.

I'm personally kind of disappointed because I have a set of the CC603 I haven't installed yet and don't really want my truck to sit up higher. The good news is I got them Amazon as Used, they packaging was just a little banged up. Maybe I could get a 2" lowering block?

Yeah a lowering block would be good. Actually I think the 6101 is for a 3/4 ton, the 6082 might be more what you want if yours is a C10. Spring rate is lower (722) and load is a couple hundred # lower too 2406. Install height is still 10" but that's going to depend on how heavy your front end is.

It looks like the 6082 is for the Front.

Re: Do these rear springs make my truck look fat?

Your huge picture sure made your post fat. I had to shift right and left like a typewriter just to read it . So you had 2" drop coils on, so going to stock would raise it 2". But you used coils that are intended to not drop as much as stock coils when weight is added which can mean they raise it a bit over stock, or at least the weight of the empty truck would not affect the stance. I'd think you'd have to add more than a little weight to make it lower since they are designed to not drop under load. Hence the name load leveler

I don't think they'll settle for many years to come. Do all new vehicles sit an inch lower after a couple payments? Anything I have put lift, stock, or lower springs on sat the same as the day installed.

Yeah, sorry I've been burning the candle at both ends

Well, it's probably good to refresh springs all the way around, so we'll leave it at that.
