I ran down to the convenience store and.....

came back with this. Actually the son in law went and picked it up yesterday. We were just lucky the guy decided to go fishing, because it was so far back in the hills, we would have never found it.

I had my $4 hot dog lunch in my hand when I walked out of the store and parked at the pump was this 70 4X4. Original paint, seat cover, exhaust, tow hooks, under the hood etc. I struck up a conversation with the guy and the next thing I know we own it.

I'll try to post progress pics. I already went to my secret stash and found a set of correct style stainless hubcaps and ordered a set of 8" powdercoated steelies today. Seat and detailing is next. I have to get the primer off the tailgate and I have one more OE chrome rear sport bumper.

The son in law washed it and ran it by the house yesterday afternoon. when he left she said "did you really buy that?". I said "yep, quite an investment, huh?" She just rolled her eyes.

BTW Boog, I saw that 68 stepper today. you would sure look good in that thing.

that's a really cool truck but the story with the wife rolling her eyes had me chuckling. My wife used to get upset, but after 30 years of the same story she also just kinda rolls them eyes and goes back inside. Ha.

I'm not gonna push my luck. I'm not sure I could get away with two "investments" in one week.

very nice looking 70, with good looking grill. Tow hooks too! Very cool. I'm with you on the rear sport bumper, but thats just me and my opinion. I'm sure others would like the step bumper.

That is Arkansas the state motto up until a few years ago was called the land of opportunity. And also up until a few years ago those type thing presented themselves quite often not so much anymore. The way I got my 68 Lemans convert, is a man came by my shop and saw some older stuff and asked if I had interest in the older stuff I said yes depending if it was the right bla bla bla. He said I have a 68 convert lemans I would like out of my yard it runs and drives if you would give $300 you can get it.

I just saw a rough 67 or 68 LeMans convertible go for $25,000 at an auction!

I look at them as more functional, I would just buy chrome repop and blast and powder coat black... not worth that much for me.

My local convenience store doesn't sell these trucks, but they do sell hot dogs

That may be a Luverne bumper, same people who made GM accessory grill guards
