Pics of wood steering wheels in our trucks

Guys, I am contemplating going with a three spoke gm looking wheel in my crew cab. Who all runs a wood wheel, and what brand/ model do you have. Thanks

Thumbs up Re: Pics of wood steering wheels in our trucks

I have several 2 spoke wheels and one 3 spoke. Not a fan of the aftermarket wood wheels. These are all Chevy wheels I have redone myself.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

OOPS upside down and crooked. I picked up this Nardi wheel for a Miata off Ebay a few years ago and used an adapter I bought off Ebay.

The wheel has a great feel in your hands and is smaller than stock but not little.

I don't know what a GM looking wheel looks like so I will post up the one I have in the '72 Dually. It is fake wood and it looks nice, but it is pretty small. I like the new 15" stock looking steering wheels so I may replace it with one of those somewhere down the road.

Hey Leon, the GM looking wheel is any steering wheel that mimics the classic 3 spoke that the Corvettes and Camaros had in the 60's.

Thanks Trevor. I looked them up and it looks like most of them have quite a bit of dish to them.

Camaro, Corvair, Impala all had them besides the Corvette. All the wheels I posted are Original Chevy wheels I've refurbished myself.

This is mine. I believe it's a Grant steering wheel.

What hub did you use to install your steering wheel?

Re: Pics of wood steering wheels in our trucks

I have the exact one TDangle has and I love it. It is a Grant and readily available, at Summit for instance. You have to buy the mounting kit separate. I think all together is about $150. I picked mine up for $35 off of FB marketplace.

It was an OER 6 bolt Steering Wheel Hub, either number 3937896 or 3930062 from summit. I don’t recall which one, I bought both and used the one that fit the best. I installed it about 10-12 years ago.

Used an OER Chevelle wheel on my Blazer. I think they look great in our trucks.

Re: Pics of wood steering wheels in our trucks

I just pulled the trigger on the 67-68 Walnut Camaro/Chevelle Wheel. I am hoping it matches the Cheyenne Super Trim well. Trevor

I got Rosewood and it did not match the reproduction door panels well enough to suit me. So I changed the door panel wood grain. You might be pretty close on the Super gauge cluster and GBD grain with walnut though. Here's the post in my build thread where we corrected our door panels to match the wheel:

Only pic I have handy of mine, a Grant that I have never really liked that much, especially when I see it next to the real things some of you guys have.
