Re: 20 Years

While on the subject of firearms, I won this cute little thing the other day. The local Kawanis Club sells raffle tickets for a weekly drawing every year, and this was my prize. Last year I won a Ruger .22 rifle.

Our Kawanis doesn't have a lodge, they meet at the Western Sizzlin' Steak House, conference room. It is still very active.

Our Elks lodge was once a lively place, but it is barely hanging on now, and the same is said for our Masonic Lodge. There was a time when all the movers and shakers here belonged to both, but that has all changed.

The Masons sold their lodge a few years ago and rented space downtown.

Oh, you are talking about the Covid. We didn't pay too much attention to that around here. The government offices, and restaurant dining rooms played the game, but other than that, it was business as usual.

The coffee shop I go to in the mornings, is in a convenience store. The mayor called the proprietor and told him to tell us we couldn't gather there. The store owner said "You tell 'em". That was the end of that.

I respect the virus, I know it's real, but I'm not going to live in fear.

I 100% agree.

I do wear a mask sometimes. But only to make others feel better. If it puts some old lady at ease then I'll put the stupid thing on and look like an idiot.

I also wear it when I rob liquor stores.

Pretty much what I have been doing..... well, except for robbing liquor stores.

Just found out our guvnor wants us to wear a mask every time we go out in public. Sigh..... Guess I'll be wearing it a bit more often now.

Screw him. Do what you want.

Just don't rob any liquor stores. You'll be cutting in on my territory.

That's my plan in a nutshell. Stores might try to enforce it.... we'll see. I've always been able to keep a good distance away from others anyway.

I like that little .380 Now I want one. They aren't badly priced. I already have a subcompact. It's a HK P2000SK .40 I just have to see if my local gun shop is still open. You never know these days.

They have a gun raffle every year here in Kernville for Whiskey Flat Days. I buy tickets every year but I never win anything.

Re: 20 Years

I carry this little safety delete bodyguard dao with 95gr rangers the most..

bought this lc380 by mistake few years ago, still sitting in the safe in the turner's shopping bag

your trooper is a model up from this mkIII lawman, but I really can't complain for what I paid for it and how sweet it shoots..

glad y'all getting the trooper back, hope it's still in good shape.. my lawman is a 4" if that helps.. 4" 6" 8" are most common and troopers have shrouded ejector rods.. good luck!

Re: 20 Years

Somehow I wrote a post and didn't save it ...

Anyway, I've got a .38/.357 LCR but I didn't win it; those things ain't so cheap.

It's IWB right this second because I just got back in from cutting firewood, and the Blackhawk is heavy and awkward to work in and the holster fills up with sawdust. The LCR just disappears under my overalls.

I better not say anything about cops not returning stolen firearms ...

Re: 20 Years

In the summer, hiking, riding, doing most everything, the 4 5/8" Blackhawk is my side kick. Just carry the LCR for cutting wood and fire fighting.

In the long winter months, when I spend more time sitting around and dragging myself in and out of vehicles, I switch to the Security Six in a Bianchi thumb break just because it rides higher. But I don't like that grip up under my short ribs when I'm riding a horse.

I don't wear a mask when I am out, even though I get the stink eye on occasion for it. A few of my customers require it so I gotta play the stupid game for income sake from time to time.

Here is my latest acquisition, early 60's S&W 10-5. As I said before, I am a sucker for a good wheel gun. Also have a 17-6, 31-4, and a Ruger SuperBlackhawk.

Killer Bee,
I like the Remington Golden Sabers in your earlier photo. I worked for Remington for almost 13 years at their ammo plant engineering around explosive manufacturing and handling.

Hope to see some photos of an old Colt that survived.

that job sounds like a blast

sorry, you probably heard that so many times.. anyways, bet that was a cool job!

I have actually called them somewhere in Arkansas for some of the limited production run ammo to see when and where they shipped so I could track it down and get a case or two

you'll be pleased to know Mrs. Bee's dept. issue are golden sabers..

beautiful site when she has several cases of it in .40 loaded up for a range session..

I liked the .357 enough to buy a case for myself

agreed, let's see that old nickel plated trooper!

I have my Dad’s S&W 38 he bought new in 1958 or so. I don’t have the receipt handy but I have seen it. He bought it through the police dept. He sent it off to the factory and had it nickel plated and pearl handles added in 1970. Very few rounds have been fired through it. He carried it for protection due to his work. Back in the 50-60’s pants had big pockets so it was easy to just keep it there. I had the holster made last year.

Well we sent off the LEGR form today overnight mail. (26 bucks) Ouch!
My wife is tenacious. They might make it tough for her but they don't know who they're dealing with, She called them 3 times today. She is all over them and she doesn't give up easily. Ask me how I know.

So we'll see how it goes.

I'd like to get the Trooper back with it's brother. My .357 Python.

I like the vintage guns myself. I have a 1957 Mannlicher 30.06. It's never fired a round. And I can't bring myself to do it. It's too perfect. It's 63 years old and it's like brand new. So it sits in the safe. It's more of a collectors piece than a gun. At least to me. I have plenty of other guns. I don't need to shoot it. Id' like to.. But I won't.

nice python

bout the only nicer handun for common folk than a python is a korth..

pythons are beautiful! I hope to find a 1971 shooter in 95+% with box and docs and a polishing room letter.. my dream gun I'll find eventually..

steyr double set triggers! unfired!! I need a cigarette holy smokes that's badass!

thanks for showing us, never get tired of looking at nice guns like that!

so far as unfired guns go, I have this 1971 ruger 10/22 Sporter finger groove which is rare enough and unfired with box and docs.. but what the hell can I do with it but store it? the burden or preserving it is killing me, feel like sending it to a fine gun collector.. I have a few of them all above 90%, two factory checkered which are the rarest Ruger 10/22 on the planet, roughly a thousand ever made couple of vintage scopes, slings, etc. much more enjoyable

decisions, decisions

closer pictures of the rarest 10/22 ever made, factory hand checkered Sporter checkered SPC
