steyr double set triggers! unfired!! I need a cigarette holy smokes that's badass!

thanks for showing us, never get tired of looking at nice guns like that!

so far as unfired guns go, I have this 1971 ruger 10/22 Sporter finger groove which is rare enough and unfired with box and docs.. but what the hell can I do with it but store it? the burden or preserving it is killing me, feel like sending it to a fine gun collector.. I have a few of them all above 90%, two factory checkered which are the rarest Ruger 10/22 on the planet, roughly a thousand ever made couple of vintage scopes, slings, etc. much more enjoyable

I'm with you on the guitars, guns, and cars. No ex-wives, though. I've managed to keep the same one for 36 years. She's even bought me most of my guitars, some of my guns, and even one of my cars (95 Z28 convertible).

Some nice guns shown here. I don’t have any pristine guns because I tend to use my stuff. Guns get shot, cars get driven. Just me.

My other two S&W’s. 17-6 and 34-1

Re: 20 Years

I bought this the day I turned 21. Stripped and stained the furniture myself and have put at least 50K rounds through it over the years. It has never misfired or caused me any grief. I own many firearms (nothing really collectible other than a passed down 1934 H&R Handy-Gun .410) but I love shooting this more than anything else

Re: 20 Years

About 45 years ago a guy from California moved to the remote, sparsely populated county just south of us. He had a 68 Corvette. Everybody knew he had a 69 Corvette, and his explanation for not licensing it was, he didn't drive it enough to warrant licensing it.

He was there about 20-25 years and passed away. When they started settling his estate and dispensing of his stuff, They discovered the Corvette was stolen in California, just before he moved here.

Re: 20 Years

I used to see a guy in the local hardware store driving a nice old 67 Camaro.

He quit coming in and I didn't think too much about. In a year of two my buddy in the HVAC business said to come with him, he had traded for an old Camaro. I went to the same remote county the 68 Corvette was in, traveled back in the sticks to the end of the road, and there in a makeshift building, was that Camaro. In the glove box was all the paperwork and that guy had bought the Camaro new in California.

The people up the hill from him had moved here from California and built a state of the art machine shop, and also befriended the Camaro guy. He had no relatives, so they took care of him. When he died they got the Camaro and traded it for an HVAC system.

We sure do have a lot of Californians here. On the other hand, 50 years ago California had a lot of Arky;s.

Re: 20 Years

My brother in law grew up in Covina. We took a road trip a while back and visited there. WE ate at "Clearman's Northwoods Inn", and I think every "In and Out Burger" we passed.

Things have really changed since the sixties.

He was a cop in 1970 down around Killer Bee someplace. He decided that being an engineer was safer.

your uncle is a nice man, glad I had a chance to meet him!

I also appreciate your advice.. our plan is solid and shaping up nicely.. just got 2.65% on the rest of our mortgage which is under 40% ltv.. out of here with two defined benefit retirements (three counting the missus ) in 5-6 years or sooner..

my goal is to check all the 'ca' boxes before we leave.. which reminds me, my buddy in bodfish always bugging me to visit.. so I'd like to also meet Paul, and apparently his missus if we're going lay rubber in that porsche

I think with a little encouragement, Paul would buy the little farm next door in Missouri. He could probably buy the big farm if he cashed out that place in LA. Bring him along and we can meet at the lake and fish. We probably wouldn't catch anything, but at least we would be entertained.

I was near Paul's place when I bought my K10 in Hanford.

I was born in Covina. I graduated from Covina High School. "Go Colts" My mother still lives there.

When did your BIL graduate? I might know him if he went there when I did. I graduated in 1979.(Barely)

And Clearman's is the best. A steak house that doesn't give you a steak knife because you don't need one. The meat is that tender. And the salads and that cheese bread are to die for. We always went there on special occasions. And I like the fake snow on the roof.

I remember taking my daughter there when she was little and she ordered a hot dog. It was like 6 bucks and then she wouldn't eat it. She was being fussy. The joys of being a parent.

Well for 6 bucks. If she won't eat it then I'm damn sure going to. I wasn't going to waste 6 bucks.

And that was the best hot dog I ever had in my life.

Well, I failed geography this time. I was on the wrong side of I-210, and I am assuming it wasn't even there when you guys were growing up. He grew up in Glendora and graduated in 71.

You must have went to the one on Rosemead Blvd and Huntington Dr. in San Gabriel. It is kind of by the 210. Still the same good food.

Glendora is right next to Covina. My cousin's grew up there. It's more upscale than Covina. In high school I dated a couple girls from Glendora and was always a little intimidated walking up to the really nice big houses that they lived in and their dad's giving me the stink eye.

Their dad's were right. I was a teenage boy and had one thing on my mind.
