Universal Wiper Kit from EZ Wiring

I have no parts for the windshield wipers on my 53 Chevy 3100. I am looking at the Universal Wiper Kit from EZ Wiring https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-P...dYMz-P&vxp=mtr

Does anyone have this kit installed? Can it be installed such that the wipers operate the same way as the original wipers (I am assuming this requires that one of the wiper wheel boxes be installed on the opposite of the drive cable)?

Thanks.

Wade

I guess no one has used this kit. Any suggestions for windshield wipers if I am starting with nothing (no wiper transmission or wiper motor).

Thanks.

As long as the transmissions can be adapted to fit in the stock locations, I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'm curious how the sweep is adjusted, the photos don't show much detail. Like any other "universal" part, some fabrication will be required.

Thanks. My challenge is that I have no wiper parts, so to buy all of the required parts plus the electric motor I will be at about $500. I don't plan to drive the truck in the rain very often, so I am looking for a more economical solution.

Check classifieds, should be able to find good used wiper parts at good price.

Re: Universal Wiper Kit from EZ Wiring

I have used the newport engineering kit and it is absolutely wonderful.

the one thing I will mention is that the newport instructions say to bend the arms (under the dash) to make the system work smoothly, but on the one I used I shortened the passenger rod 1 inch and everything worked perfectly. these are high torque assemblies so a bend will eat up valuable torque, I have read complaints about how the passenger arm will work slower on these kits, and that was my experience (and losing the clips when the passenger arm would pop off) untill I just pulled the arm and shortened it by cutting and welding.
