Rivets in floor?

See photo. In the upper part of the floor (picture of passenger side) there are a few of these raised pins. Maybe they're some type of rivet? I don't know what they're for. I'm in the process of cleaning the floor so I can put new sound deadener and carpet down soon. I don't want to remove these before knowing what they were for.

He's exactly right. The original factory rubber floor mat was secured by those. You can cut them out if you don't plan to use the OEM style mat.

I DO plan to install a factory-style carpet. I suppose I'll decide if they stay or go once I order and receive the carpet.
