Re: anybody have an idea on cab weight

I can say a stripped cab is much lighter than I expected. I recruited three guys who could bench 1000 pounds between them. I took a rear corner, and I'm 5'11", 155 lbs. and a "senior". We lifted and all four busted a laugh.

Just guessing here, but seems close: Stripped cab is 300 lbs. Doors 45 lbs. each, door window & vent with regulator etc. is 32 lbs. per side, windshield 25 lbs., large rear window 15 lbs.

sounds about right to me. I asked a few frineds to help me on a saturday and when all was said and done we had 6 to drop the cab back on the frame, 4 normal guys can do it, especially if the doors are off. I had the front and back glass in when we dropped it back on.

Re: anybody have an idea on cab weight

I am sitting here staring at my stripped cab, my buddy and I set it on sawhorses Saturday.

Had to pick it up half hunched over and crab walk it to the back of the frame, over the tires, then walk across the shop and set it down.

We guessed 260-280 lbs.

Could be that 260-280. It wasn't a struggle at all. I've heard a bed weighs more than a stripped cab, and IMO, that includes a short bed without tailgate.

Re: anybody have an idea on cab weight

I used a 4x4 and an engine hoist, piece of cake and all 12 beers were mine! Two pieces of 1" x 5" 1/4" plate screwed to the 4x4 and a 6" bolt through the end of the hoist tube (place the 4x4 on top of the hoist tube and toggle it). Center it up inside the cab with a little hanging beyond the doors or door openings. Lift and put it where you want it...Can use the same 4x4 and hoist to lift the bed as well, center stake pocket is center of load...
