Is GA a title state?

Does anyone know if GA is a title state? If I were to buy a truck in GA do I get a title for ownership or just a bill of sale?
TIA,
Kevin

I'd check with the seller. I have the title for my 70 C10. Depending on how long the seller has had their truck, they may have one also.

Re: Is GA a title state?

Just went through this, not a big deal at all. the bill of sale will allow you to register the truck. I think I also received a "no-title" document of some kind from the dealer. The GA-DMV had to perform some standard research to make sure the vin was correct and truck not stolen. Only issue I has was the newbie at the dmv didn't understand the process. Supervisor came along and I walked out with my tag in five minutes.

Re: Is GA a title state?

I bought my truck in Ga about 7 yrs ago. No title. NC gave me a temporary tag and set up an appt for me to have my truck inspected so a title could be created for me. It took some time, but was relatively easy.

Talking Re: Is GA a title state?

I bought the 56 Bel Air from Ga. I only got a bill of sale.

If it's over 30/35 years no title is required by the state of Ga. That doesn't mean the owner doesn't have one. Weather you get it are not is another thing.

I went to my local SC DMV and showed them the paper work and they gave me a temporary title and my tags. After 90 days nobody claims it, says it's stolen then you go back to the DMV and they issue a new title for the vehicle. So now I'm the original owner of the 56 in the state of SC because I have the "A" title.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
