transmission oil cooler line fitting help please

hello i have a th350 transmission, and i plan on placing steel braided oil cooler lines on it. does anyone know what the thread size of the pressure and return fitting lines at the transmission and the radiator, thanks in advance

The transmission side is 1/4 inch npt. Normally an adapter is screwed in in order for the standard 5/16's line flare nut to screw in to. Jegs sells a line kit with the fittings to do exactly what your looking for. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/60366...FapFMgodkScAVA

The cooler I bought at a swap meet for $30.00. I made a couple of brackets from some angle to mount it under the radiator behind the bumper. I had to buy two more fittings to be able to plumb the cooler. I got those at a local speed shop and were made by Earl's Plumbing. Jegs has them too.

The kit has 20 ft of hose and I probably had 4 ft or so left over. I thought about bending lines, but the frustration level is much less this way, I like the look and they lay real nice on the frame in my opionion.

If you use the steel braided hose be sure to use high pressure fittings. Hard lines are actually a better choice because of the high pressures on those lines. They will run 80-120 PSI but can reach 175 psi at WOT if you have a modulator on that trans (and unless it is built for racing, you do)! Summit racing has a set of stainless steel hard lines for $40.00 which is really cheap insurance. Lose a fitting or blow a hole in a flex line and your trans is junk in just a few seconds!

I would use plain steel lines, its much cheaper and less problems on the long haul. Anytime you introduce a fitting you are asking for a "possible issue" so why would you spend money for a "possible issue".....

I agree, bend some steel lines for a factory clean look that will last forever.
