Re: steering wire

For a non-tilt steering column that is a fiber optic cable and it uses the light from the back side of one of the instrument cluster lights and transmits it to the shift indicator. It should be regulated by the rheostat (dimmer) for the instrument cluster lights. For a tilt column the shift indicator bulb is in the steering column and the cable is an electric wire.
