picked up a roll of black carpet from oreilys and a sheet of thin plywood from lowes. Spray glue the carpet on the board. The board is wedged in between the two speaker boxes. The only purpose for the board is to avoid trying to glue carpeting to the ribbed back wall. This was an easier and quicker solution for me since I don't know what I'm doing with the audio system yet.

There is a thread on this forum and i followed it exactly except i added some wires and mounted my remotely. You just cut a couple of wires and add in an aux jack from radio shack.

Super clean truck. I like following your attention to detail. I also like your real world approach... I want this, but have this... I can't buy what I want right now... so I modified what I have. That is exactly right for me and my approach to working on these trucks. No disrespect for the guys that buy the best and have the over-the-top builds. But I don't the time, money, or bandwidth to do it that way. The affordable way is part of what keeps it fun for me.

Thanks! It is a real struggle for me because sometimes I would like to replace some parts with new but then reality sets in...gotta buy groceries or the kids need something....so you gotta get creative. Besides, I enjoy spending time with a bench grinder and stripping wheel and repainting screws, nuts and bolts. Garage therapy is cheaper than seeing the wizard!

Finished up the interior this past weekend. Just need to mount the steering wheel and then get some floor mats.

I can't thank member TKCR enough for the great job she did on my seat. I basically built the interior around this great looking seat!!!

I used some 3m double sided clear tape to secure the edge of the black carpet I used on the back wall just where it starts to curve up. I think it turned out good and the acoustics inside with my ipod and all the speakers sounds good for my old ears.

Old Blue is looking great. You are doing an excellent job on it. I will also be following along. I just started another (78) project and love to see others (especially other Marines) progress. Kinda inspires me.

So today, I got alot of work done. Progress was slow but I actually did alot of stuff. Wife and son were out all day so I just hunkered down and did as much as I could, stopping only to take some pics for you guys.

I purchased an 82 front bumper from LMC, they have a retrofit kit that comes with the lights and I really liked that looks so I pulled the trigger on it. Chrome looks really good as does all their premium bumpers.
Masked off the bumper to prevent any over-spray then shot some rust reformer on the inside of the bumper. Once that dried, I sprayed raptor liner inside my bumper to keep it from rusting back there. I always do this to my bumpers and I really like how it turns out. Any overspray can be handled with some chrome polish and aluminum foil but I think my care paid off.

Bought a new grille with the chrome surround moldings as well. I really wanted to get the chrome headlight surrounds but it wasn't in the budget so i took the same argent silver paint I used on my rally wheels and gave the old ones a couple of coats followed by a coat of satin clear. I took the old blue vinyl tape off the grille center moldings which were in excellent shape.

Cleaned everything really good, and shot some satin black where I could then more cleaning and polished up the grille turn signal lenses as best I could. Also removed the horn bolts and took the wire wheel to them then some stainless steel paint and the engine pay was done (for now).

Then I spliced in some extra wires for the bumper turns/park lights. The LMC kit does not come with sockets or wiring because you are supposed to remove the lights in the grille and extend that wiring for the bumper lights. I wanted my cake and eat it too so I just spliced in more wires and picked up some sockets that would work at Auto zone.

I think it all turned our pretty good considering the size of my budget lol.
