Who's done a front end leveling kit on a 67-72?

Im new to the site and have enjoyed reading a number of threads from some knowledgable individuals. So I've got a 71 c20 LWB 350. I've done quite a bit to her and now beginning to focus on the exterior and interior appearance. I would like to know the best way to raise the front end to level it out with the rear end. What's the best way to go about this to keep the truck straight. I'm not cheap when it comes to the truck so I'm willing to purchase necessary parts. Also, any suggestions on tract bars, stabilizers, shocks, etc for improving drive quality? Obliged!

Welcom from Texas! Here's as thread that might help.

Does your truck have coil or leaf spring reared? The first suspension mod I would recommend would be a heavy front sway bar.

Thanks! They're coil springs. I've heard about spacers that go underneath the coils. I've not heard about ride quality or installation difficulty though.

Re: Who's done a front end leveling kit on a 67-72?

Not what you're asking. But I put lowering blocks on the rear of my truck and left the front at stock height. This levelled the truck nicely.

As for handling/drive quality, sway bars and good shocks go a long way. My truck has a factory front sway bar, stock coil springs and I added a rear bar. It corners well and has a great ride.

For more info on handling check out the 'make it handle' thread. There's some heavy reading but it has good info. Sorry I would have attached a link but couldn't figure it out.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the info john. I'm going for the 4wd look since its a 3/4 ton I use on the farm. I'll upload pics soon of what I've got. My grandad bought it brand new in 71 and has handed it down to me.

Nice truck and color combo!
I'm with you, I like the taller farm look, and will be raising mine when I can. I've seen a couple of threads on raising a stock 2wd (just switching to different springs), that one above is one of them. I'm going to try raising my rear first since my front sits up pretty good with my light engine (plus I like a slight rake on these, nostalgia).

I know this is 4wd but I love the look of this Steve McQueen truck (too high for my 2wd but something in between would be fine) Good luck!

Throwing some jr west coast mirrors on tomorrow. I like the look and the white is chipping on these and they do not hold position when driving on the highway. Also purchased a new chrome front bumper with led park lights and led tail lights. Made some purchases at classic Chevrolet with the major discount sales going on. I'll post pics after the installs.

You are one lucky grandkid. Looks like Granddad took good care of that truck!
