1969 Radiator Fan with AC

Can someone tell me how may blades and what size, 18 inch etc., the stock radiator fan is on a 1969 c/10 350 cu in motor with factory AC? Also, did the fan have a clutch?

Not a definitive answer for your 1969, but I'll get the ball rolling with info for my 1972 K20 with factory A/C. It has an 18" seven-blade thermal clutch fan. I believe all A/C trucks came with clutch fans.

I had a feeling it required more fan blades that the fan presently on the motor to pull more air. Thanks for the info.

In a previous thread a couple years ago, the consensus was that A/C trucks used 7 blade clutch fans. However, my 69 3/4 ton with A/C has a 5 blade clutch fan. I am 100% sure it's original to the truck. I never had a cooling problem even hauling a huge camper throughout the west.

Re: 1969 Radiator Fan with AC

I was thinking that it would be at least 5 blades. Is your fan 18"" across? Mine is and has 4 blades on it and no clutch. My shroud looks original so I'm guessing an 18" fan is what it had stock. The previous owner put a good wrench 350 in it and probably used whatever fan he had laying around that bolted on. It's not the first issue I've come across Since I began the rebuild.

My 69 with a 350 Factory a/c has a 7 blade, clutched fan.

Hmmm, fixed four blade fan with no clutch = not so good, you can do a whole lot better.
