original headliner ?

any body ever work with original headliner material?

i am trying to flatten some water caused wrinkles in mine before repainting.
my best guess so far is maybe a clothes iron or dampening the material and flatten on concrete with weights on a hot summer day.
any tips/thoughts and swags will be much appreciated .

did GM use this stuff on any other vehicles ?
here's a pic .
