Dumb question

I was wondering what the square cutout in the bed on the driver side was for. Any help is appriciated.

On the side of the bed? Probably was for an auxiliary fuel tank. If it's on the bed floor, I dunno. A pic would help. Not a dumb question at all.

It's for the auxiliary tank. My old 75 had that but it was filled in. Pics would help too
