Glenwood green

i am going to be spraying my 76 blazer pretty soon and would like to respray it the original glenwood green (46L) but am not having any luck finding someone that sells it. Any suggestions? I know that sherwin-williams doesn't have it, and I do not have a color formula for it. I have seen a few older (60-66) trucks painted with what is supposedly glenwood green, but theirs is a much lighter shade of green.

PPG shows a glenwood green that's an almost black looking green. Their number for it is 42850...

Was that the med green met, or the very light mint green?

Its a some where between a medium and a darker green. I do not think that there is any metallic in it. My paint in the pic is a little faded, the dash and floor are a little darker.

I have some old books I can dig through, maybe something will turn up.

And I must say, that color combo is UGLY, but in a cool way Are you going to reapply the woodgrain? I have a '77 that was originally dark met brown with the woodgrain trim, a light tan top, and a tan interior. I've thought about returning it to it's original colors.

I love that woodgrain on that thing. It would not be cool on something new, but on an older truck, blazer like that is just makes it. And I have never liked woodgrain before.

I know, I know, the color is a risk. I am not going to put the woodgrain back on and am going to leave the trim off too. The top will be black, just like it was originally. I am however considering putting only the wheel well trim on. If it looks to bland, I may figure out a way to add more black to it. The interior is also going to be black.

But I agree, that color of green would be no fun without the woodgrain. Or the light green interior

My 73 SWB was a similar color. It turned yellow with tan. However, I think I like it with the woodgrain. It gives it a cool, different look.

Well, I found the color in the books without problem, but it was listed as "No Formula".

However, I quickly glanced through some color books for big rig trucks. There was a book for International, but the charts were labeled "Navistar" at the top. Anyway, there were several shades of non-metallic green, and I'm sure at least one of them was close to "glenwood green". I can get you a variety of numbers, if you would like. Or you can take a look for yourself at your local paint supply store.

I appreciate the work, thank you. That color must have been extremely unpopular. Maybe I should go with a darker shade of green, any suggestions? It can't have metallic in it. I saw an episode of gears with stacy david in which he painted a bronco bushmaster green, any thoughts?

I dunno, I like the stock color, but a very dark green would look good to. Why no metallic?

My father-in-law is my painter and while being very good at it, he struggles to get metallic "even" when painting. Also because this blazer will get a 4 inch with 35s to go with my 3/4 ton axles. It will see some off road action so being able to replace parts and make them match is also important.

Hello,

I just stumbled across this board while searching for pics of Glenwood Green Blazers. My first "car" was a 1973 Blazer Cheyenne in Glenwood Green with a white top. No woodgrain, and no white inserts. i LOVED that truck and the color too.
