1972 Blazer SS

About 4 years ago I bought a 72 k5 that needed more work then the ad said it would...
While I pondered what I was going to to with it I drove it around. It was fun but the brakes felt wimpy and the suspension felt bouncy, the engine ran ok but felt like it needed some power and 70 mph felt sketchy.
Now mind you I'm not being fair judging my 1972 truck as if it were a hot rod, but I wanted a fun drive anywhere car.
I started looking at suspension kits, brembo brakes and ls1 swaps.
This is where I should have stopped, but I didn't.
What I did instead was buy a wrecked 2006 trailblazer ss and swap the k5 tub onto the tbss chassis. This got me a boxed frame, awd , modern suspension, big brakes, and the ls power I wanted. Used the tbss seats, cluster and all the wiring. The abs and tcs work, the lights the cluster. It runs and drives and is pretty much awesome...
As the story goes just got divorced, lost the house and now it's sitting in my apartment parking lot and I can't do any more work on it.
Posting this hoping for some moral support..

How did you deal with the different wheel base lengths?

Re: 1972 Blazer SS

After going thru a terrible divorce with lying spouse trying to have me locked, away for fake abuse claim, I can tell you THINGS WILL GET BETTER. 3 years removed, I have joint custody of my kids and way more money than when married. I'm a renter too. It sucks. Lost the family home and have to deal with HOA which sucks. Hang in there. I sold everything but saved and bought new things.

Re: 1972 Blazer SS

I'm good with the divorce, good with no more grass to cut, just sucks not having a space to tinker. Life is all good though. Having trouble posting photos.. Maybe I need to try on a computer.
