battery charger

I am looking to buy a battery charger. I have a car that I only use every couple of weeks and the battery is usually to low to start. I am looking for the best quality for my buck. Any recommendations?

I have a couple of motorcycles and have an Opti Mate III. I would recommend it. Take a look here, http://optimate1.com/product-categor...ry-charger-en/

Re: battery charger

I bought an cheap charger at Harbor Freight. I ended up tossing it and buying a Schumacher. I've been very happy with the way it's performed.

Re: battery charger

I also have been using Schumacher battery Tenders , I have 3 one is 10 years old and the other is 8 the 3d I bought about a year ago because of the same issue as you are having ,newer car and truck have constent current draw 24/7 some more then others , I also found out that some autos need to be locked this puts them in to what is called by the dealer I spoke to (SLEEP MODE) knocking out most of the current draw , My dealer told me after I lock my car it still take 16 minutes for it to go to sleep( minimal current draw) .

Re: battery charger

I have one of the Schumacher fully automatic chargers w/100A engine start. it has a 3/5/30 amp charge with auto shut off and will do AGM/gel/regular batteries. It was more expensive than your regular run of the mill charger, but to me it was well worth the money and nearly 5 years, I've had no problems out of it.

Re: battery charger

I'm very happy with this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use Schumacher battery tenders on anything I'm storing as well.

Do you have a NAPA close by? they sell a great charger/maintainer for $25. you can use it on 6v or 12v, you switch it over to your choice. Great item for so little
