Speedometer conversion box

I have one on my '52 and it works brilliantly. You need to find out how far "off" your speedometer is (ie percentage) and provide that info to the company you are purchasing the conversion box to. I checked my actual vs indicated speed at 30, 45, 60 and used the average to figure out what correction I needed.

Well I'm thinking of trying to get my original speedo (with cable) hooked up to a T5 (electric) transmission. I've seen some info about Abbott Cable X and was wondering about the results from others if they've tried it or something else...thanks ED...

I tried messing with the Abbott electric to mechanical box a few years ago on customers car and it was a complete fail. Very low quality piece, all wobbly as it spun and didn't hold a constant speed at all. Their customer service was basically throwing hands up in the air "oh well". Better bet is to try and see if there's tailshaft conversion for that trans or have a reputable speedo shop (won't name names but do a quick search around SoCal area) that will convert your factory looking speedo into an electric unit. Think the only change is that it'll have digital lcd for odometer display.

I will second the convert the speedo to electronic. Probably costs more, but is a real solution, not a Band-Aid.
