Started about a year and a half ago. Bought it as an unfinished project for a bodyshop I call on. Already had a 454/700r swapped in...that had to go and a 468/4L80e put in it's place. Here's a few pics of the progress:

Got the cab and bed off the frame. Installed the front engine crossmember. Cleaned and painted frame.

Mounted the gas tank in the rear and cut out a small pocket in the rear of the bed to put in a stainless boat fill.

Rebuilt the front and rear axles and suspension...warn hubs...tough country 4" front suspension lift...ORD rear shackle flip kit for 4" lift...2" body lift...custom rear sway bar...

Just last week got all the shhetmetal finished and cut in...now to hang the doors, frontclip and get it finish painted...then all the little things to hook up...

If I may answer for Superchevy,"no"

.i think i recall when you bought this your intentions were for a tow/hauler.that pretty black paint,Heavier o/d,and swap bar seem to point in that direction.BTW...NICE!!!!

Now,the secret I want you to share is how you`re handling the speedo drive?Are you going with an electronic to mechanical converter or an electronic speedo?Was the trans from a 6.2 diesel with stand alone ECM,did you have to buy an aftermarket`puter,or go manual kit?Here`s a little coinky dink,I have a`72 K2500 and a 4L80E I`d like to use in it.Don`t worry,I won`t paint it black.

special-K is right...I built it to tow my trailers and cruise around in. As for the 4l80, it's out of a 96' dually...I bought the TCI stand alone computer/harness to control it. I used a T400/np205 adapter...had to have it turned down by a local machine shop to mate to the 4L80...had to change the output shaft as well...

special-k, back when I was researching the 4L80 swap details, I ran across a couple of posts (can't remember where) that the 4L80 has a speed sensor port in the case....if I remember right...it might have two...maybe it was only some 4L80's...anyway...when I got the TCI harness...the instructions showed how to plug everything in, and the location for the speed sensor. I got the TCI tps harness as well to mount to the quadrajet base plate.
I can't remember if I could use the transfer case speedo outlet or not...I'll have to dig out all the freakin' info/manuals when I get ready to dial everything in...I'm sure there's something else I need to buy, lol.
There's a lot to figure out on this swap, and it is very expensive...I have more in the trans/rebuild/converter/computer than I paid for the truck originally...a lot more...if I had to do it again, I would seriously consider a T400/gearvendors o/d set-up

i know this thread is a little old but as for the rear shackle mount you have, how much lift did that gain you. also any pics of the finished product?

That's a 4" rear shackle flip from ORD.
I'm finishing up final assembly of the truck right now.
