Video of my '73 truck - new cam, heads, and exhaust

Here's a short video of my '73 C10. I bought it a few months ago. The truck was bone stock with 15,000 original miles.

Notice the use of the word "was".

I pulled the engine apart and replaced the factory heads with a set of 305HO heads (-416 casting) to bump up the compression ratio from 7.8:1 to 9.7:1. I replaced the cam with a Comp 262XE. The intake is an Edelbrock Performer with a matching 600 cfm carb that I rebuilt. Headers are stainless steel ones that I bought cheap on eBay. The pipes are a cheap dual kit from Summit.

Now let's see if the video works...

You may have an exhaust hanger issue on the right tailpipe. Oh, and someone took your tires and wheels. It sounds really good, though. I have that same cam sitting new in the box in my garage right now. Now I know how it'll sound. Thanks!

Re: Video of my '73 truck - new cam, heads, and exhaust

Thanks for the compliments!

I'm in the middle of several other projects... such as hanging a new exhaust system. I also have the inner fenders and core support removed so I can repaint them. Having all that sheetmetal removed certainly made it easy to swap the heads.
