91-94 instrument cluster retrofit into 88-90?
Has anyone done this - am thinking it may be a direct swap, not sure about the harness. I prefer 91-94 dash over the 88-90 (with those white sweepy follower things on the needles), but am looking at a nice 90 and wondering if a swap is a possibility. Thanks Pics below of the 88-90 type and the 91-94 type.

Re: 91-94 instrument cluster retrofit into 88-90?
1991 has the same connector on the back as 1988-1990 but the harness is pinned out slightly different.
To put a 1991 instrument panel in a 1988-1990 you need to: Move A10 to A9, move A11 to A10, Move B15 to B11, then run a wire from the white tach lead wire at the ignition coil into the instrument panel connector terminal B15. 1991 was the first year the harness has a tachometer wire to the instrument panel. 1992-1994 have a separate DRAC module that would have to be wired in. The connector for the instrument panel is different. Here is a recent thread on the swap; http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=764890

Good to know. Gotta have a cluster that's pleases the eyes.
Sorry I never got your answer from Jason. He's a bit "independent" about getting back sometimes. He's been known to aggravate me a little with that. Glad you got a definitive reply. It's doable!
