Old dealership photos.

I posted these awhile back on the Stovebolt forum, but I thought you guys might appreciate them too.

My dad was a district manager with Chevy, and when they closed the Omaha office he brought home a bunch of old pictures of dealerships from around the area. I picked out a few that sort of featured trucks to share here. FWIW.

Re: Old dealership photos.

Those are some cool pictures man...Love those '61 Impalas !!!

I can't imagine going to a dealership back then, and picking up a used 2 yr old '63 409 425HP convertible Impala, with all the options...for like $2500 or something......mabey less...compare that to what there worth now ??

Also...I'm wondering is we can stil get that "Lifetime Service"

Very nice pictures...Love the old pictures and memorabilia

I don't have a great scanner, and never saved a bigger version of any of the pictures. Plus, I packed them all away down in the crawl space since I posted them. It's probably more trouble than it's worth do all of that again, so I wouldn't count on it or anything. If I'm down there, and happen to run across the pictures, and the stars are aligned, who knows ...

Glad y'all like 'em, though!

Re: Old dealership photos.

Interesting to see the Chevy/Buick dealer sharing the building with the IH dealer! Used to happen often I guess, as the podunk town that my wife grew up in (Thomasville, MO) used to have a Chevrolet dealer and a Harley-Davidson dealer in the same building!

Re: Old dealership photos.

Man your photos will ruin in a crawl space. It would be a shame to ruin that history. Need to be stored out of any damp, humid, or hot spaces in acid free envelopes or sleeves if for extended lengths of time. They are a cool part of history.....Jerry

Don't worry--it's not that kind of crawl space. It's a nice, climate-controlled, dry area on the same level as the family room, and all of my stuff is in Ziplock babs, trashbags, and finally in plastic tubs. You just can't stand up in there.

Frankly, I've got so much "history" (old car crap) hanging around, it's all got to go somewhere.
