Looking for reputable engine builder for 292 in North Texas or Ok.

I'm looking for a reputable engine builder/ machine shop to rebuild my 292. I live in north Texas and can drive up to Oklahoma if necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions?

SB72,
I have came across several names of rebuilders in the area and have made a few calls.

On Jalopyjournal and HAMB websites a few people have mentioned Tinkers Motor Supply in Dallas and have stated he works on straight 6's fairly often and has been around for awhile.

There is a shop in Durant Ok called Self-Racing that has a lot of past experiance with I6's and use to race them. They are referenced in Leo Santuccis inline 6 cylinder book. When I called they were at the high end for rebuilding but we were only talking ball park prices and I think they were just being conservative.

Charles Automotive in Arlington was highly recommend by a co-worker that is a complete gear head and anal engineer.

Arlington Automotive has great reviews and I hear does excellent work but they are strictly a machine shop.

If you have heard of any others please share.

Thanks

If you are looking for a bargain machine shop, no telling what will happen with your engine..........

IF, IF you can afford Self Racing, you need to let them take care of your needs!!!

IF, you can't afford them, save up some $$$ and wait until you CAN afford them!!!
