Looking for info on a headliner....1969 Only??

I acquired this headliner and am looking for some information on it prior to selling. It is perforated and the only one like this I have had before. I'm wondering if it was used in some trucks in 1969 only? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I do think that was a 69 model year color only. With the color being different I think the material was too maybe a strike year? that has happened in recent memory to change up some stuff due to lack of supply[95 truck stuff comes to mind]. On a side note I was looking at your seat photo post last night You have some really great looking stuff. Jim

Re: Looking for info on a headliner....1969 Only??

Headliners and other things assumed to be standard in the highest trim level trucks were not available until sometime during the 1969 model year. For example, my 69 CST/20 did not have lighted deluxe side markers (just standard reflectors), headliner or cargo light. When I inquired at the end of 1969, I was told, at least for the markers and headliners, that they were added starting sometime around Jan. 1, 1969. If I recall correctly those early headliners were perforated.

Here's the headliner in my 69 CST-10 I assume it's from the factory because it matches the rest of the stock interior.

Yep, factory. And, that color looks like the 'Gold'. My old '69 CST K/10 Custom Camper had the perforated vinyl headliner, red

Edit, after TC posted

I hardly ever saw a truck with headliner back then and just thought they were all that way. Never really looked at the headliner in any others till my next truck with headliner that was years later. Then I wondered about that '69 till I saw a few other original '69 CSTs that way over many years after that! I looked at a whole heap of trucks in all that time before figuring it out. So, I know what you mean. Still lookin', still learnin'

You know you learn something new everyday. The first perforated headliner I have ever seen and I have looked at a lot of these trucks.

Re: Looking for info on a headliner....1969 Only??

I've never seen a perforated headliner either. Must be a 69 only thing. I have never seen a turquoise/ aqua headliner either. I have a 70 longhorn that color and if I could find one I would consider installing it. Parts are hard to find in that color. Not being reproved to the best of my knowledge. I have found good original arm rests and visors. No luck on a dash pad yet! I have a grey one (repro) that I plan to dye/ paint.

Amazing what you learn about the differences in these trucks.
