Anyone ever install an dual exhaust kit from LMC?
My daughter bought a dual exhaust kit from lmc, I'm having issues getting it hooked up, doesn't seem correct. It's the stock exit kit. This is in a short bed 69 c10 with a 350, ram horn exhaust. I know it's for a long or short bed so I'll have to cut one or more of the joints but want to be sure I've got it laid out correctly before I cut. Anyone have a pic of their install? Trying to get this done today. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I bought one from them at one time a long time ago. The pipes would not fit the manifolds. I packed them up & took them back.

Re: Anyone ever install an dual exhaust kit from LMC?
I believe the kit LMC sells is made by Heartthrob Exhaust. I put a Heartthrob kit, but not from LMC, on my '69 3/4 ton with a 350 and ram horns. Mine has the "stock" mufflers. I bought it even though I read that it may not fit with an Eaton axle (certainly not your problem). The right tail pipe interfered with the track bar. I called Heartthrob and talked to Mike Forbes. I sent him a pattern and they custom bent a pipe for me at no cost. I'm pleased with the set up and very pleased with the customer service.
I'm not sure how you are trying to mount it, but one suggestion is that the original single exhaust system on these trucks had the muffler mounted on edge, not flat. The kit should fit when mounted that way. Here is a link to Heartthrob's website and a few pictures of mine. I used band clamps and also added hangers on the crossmember above the axle to prevent the pipes from twisting. http://heartthrobexhaust.com/ |

I just ordered the exhaust kit from LMC. I ordered the set that goes straight out the back. I'll let you know what I experience. When I go to install it.

Re: Anyone ever install an dual exhaust kit from LMC?
I used the LMC (Hearthrob) kit in my 1970 LWB.
Local muffler shop wanted $800+ to do a generic "dual" exhaust, so for the price, it's a great kit. (tail pipes are reversed in the picture) I did have to have the guys at the shop tweak one of the pipes for me as it was about 1/2" off from lining up, but that was no big deal. I also used band-clamps instead of the ones that came in the kit. The band clamps allow you to adjust the pipes if you need to.

They marked the tail pipes opposite in this kit, I switched them and got one side installed and it seems right now. Going to try the other side this am, hopefully it goes as smooth as the one I installed yesterday.

I wouldn't mind welding in some cut-outs upstream of the mufflers. "What loud truck officer? It wasn't me, honest..." LOL!

I didn't use the "turbo mufflers", threw in some flowmaster 40s, sounds pretty good.

Airspeed:
What Flowmasters did you go with? I am looking at the 2-1/4" 40 Delta Flow, but don't know if I need the center inlet with offset discharge or offset inlet with center discharge. This is going on a K2500 GMC. Either the 942441 O/C or the 9421442 C/O
