Trying to get a Oregon history lesson

While in Portland I made the trip south to Sutherlin Oregon. This is where my truck was purchased new in 67 from Tom Timmons Chevrolet. There has been no info on the inter webs about this dealer. I spoke with a local car dealer that has been on the same site and same street as the Timmons dealership. He claimed the dealership when out of business some time in the late 60's.
Is there anyone from or knows the area and has information about this dealer?
I'm looking for any info ie newspaper ads from back in the day or any dealer memorabilia.

Find out what the local paper is and you can try searching newspapers.com. I had luck with a project at work searching for a local business from the 1940s in a small Texas town.

I'm from Roseburg, about 10 miles south of there. Timmons was a little before my time but I feel like I've seen stickers on cars with the name.

For what it's worth, The News-Review is the local paper and has been for years. Current link is http://www.nrtoday.com, might do you some good. Best of luck!

Thanks for the lead Josh. If you ever see at car or truck from the mid to late 60's with a Tom Timmons dealer emblem snap a photo. I will PM my info.

I got my truck in Falls City, Oregon, but the truck was purchased at a Hillsboro dealership.

Kit Carson guided General Fremont there in the early 1840s, across the Oregon trail. They fought Indians and attempted to establish a Fort on the West Coast.
